AABSyS has successfully conducted AABTonics – a GIS competition for the international academia

AABSyS has successfully conducted AABTonics – an International GIS Competition organized by AABSyS IT. This is a one-of-a-kind competition in India, in the GIS domain. This competition was an Academia Engagement Program, aimed at the promotion of GIS technology and innovation, that could help foster entrepreneurial spirit among students.
The competition received a wonderful response, with registration from 38 teams, representing more than 100 students across the globe.
Entries submitted by the teams were evaluated by a panel of judges comprising professionals with domain expertise and rich experience in the GIS industry including Mr. Devendra Agarwal – an expert veteran in the GIS industry, Mr. Deepak Misra – a seasoned expert in digital and automation initiatives, Mr. Maneesh Prasad – an entrepreneur and expert in telematics, along with Mr. Arun Patnaik – CEO and Director, AABSyS IT and Mr. Rajen Tanwar – Dy. Managing Director, AABSyS IT.
The registration was open between 10th September- 30th September, followed by which the teams submitted their write up for the level I round based on which the AABTonics Panel shortlisted 10 teams for the final presentation round. The final presentation round was for 3 days (13,15 and 16 Novemeber,2021).
Team Professional Pirates from NIIT University, Neemrana bagged the first position and will be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 50,000 for their working prototype for crop classification using Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning based techniques. The Smart Transportation team from CEPT University, Ahmedabad secured the 2nd position and won a cash prize of Rs. 30,000 for their research and application in leveraging GIS for Smart Transportation Solutions. Team A Star from Symbiosis Institute of Geoinformatics, Pune won the 3rd position along with a cash prize of Rs. 20,000 for their innovative idea of a navigation application designed to help customers find nearest stores with ready product availability.
The results were declared on 17th November 2021, which also happens to be the International GIS Day.
