AABSyS Successfully Conducts AABTonics 2022

AABSyS has successfully conducted AABTonics –  a GIS competition for the international academia

AABTonics- An International GIS Competition organized by AABSyS IT, as part of its academia engagement initiative, encouraging young minds to foster an entrepreneurial spirit. AABTonics is a first-of-its-kind initiative by any GIS company.

The competition received a wonderful response, with registration from 40 teams, representing more than 100 students across the globe.

Entries submitted by the teams were evaluated by a panel of judges comprising professionals with domain expertise and rich experience in the GIS industry including Mr. Devendra Agarwal – an expert veteran in the GIS industry, Mr. Deepak Misra – a seasoned expert in digital and automation initiatives, Mr. Sabyasachi Patnaik –  a technology veteran with rich experience in the insurance, healthcare, and life sciences business sectors, along with Mr. Arun Patnaik – CEO and Director, AABSyS IT and Mr. Rajen Tanwar – Dy. Managing Director, AABSyS IT.

Registration for AABTonics was open during 15^th August – 14^th September, followed by an orientation session. During the  Level-I round, all participating teams submitted write-ups introducing their ideas, from which the AABTonics Panel shortlisted 10 teams for the Level-II presentation. The Level-II presentation spanned three days (08^th, 09^th and 10^th of November 2022).

Team Professional AgroCAM from IIT Roorkee bagged the first position and will be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 50,000 for their Project BhoomiCAM. Aditya from IIT Kanpur secured the second position and won a cash prize of Rs. 30,000 for his project Urban Forest characterization using MLS point cloud data through deep learning. Team SO_NAM from Symbiosis Institute of Geoinformatics, Pune won the third position along with a cash prize of Rs. 20,000 for their innovative idea of a GIS based hydraulic modelling for planning, designing and implementation of 24×7 water supply system in India. The results were declared on 16^th November 2022, which also happens to be the International GIS Day.
